Director, writer, actress Maryam Pirband began her career as an actress after she earned a B. A. degree in Economics and completed a 3 year course in Film School.
Maryam is presently continuing her education and earning a Master's Degree at California's
Azusa Pacific University.
She started her directing career as an assistant director and script supervisor. After making her first short film"p6", she was interviewed by several agencies interested in working with her.
P6 was an action short film to be directed by a female filmmaker in Iran for the first time. The production was very interesting and successful and soon producers invited her to make her next films.
As an international filmmaker, she has made Feature films, short films, documentaries and television shows and numerous commercials and industrial films for many clients around the world.
Her films have been screened, nominated and awarded at over 30 festivals around the world including Cannes, Pune, Action on Film,Independent Italian Filmmakers and many more.
Maryam is a member of Alliance of Women Directors of America. She has written scripts for television shows and movies. Her books "Triangle" and "Where Am I Standing" including the scripts were published in 2016 and 2018.
She has participated as a festival jurist and head of the jury panel in different countries. In addition to distributing indie films, she teaches in workshops to support indie and first time filmmakers.
Her unique point of view in character creating and storytelling in addition to her visual talent opens new windows in filmmaking.
