Director, writer, producer, actress Maryam Pirband, began her career as an actress when she finished her bachelor degree. She is graduated in Commercial Economy beside three years of education in Directing. She started her Directing career as an assistant and Script supervisor. When she made her first short film, she faced numerous agencies who interviewed her. P6 was an action short film and to be made by a female/ first time filmmaker in Iran, it was interesting. Soon producers invited her, and she made her next films.
Maryam continues her education in Master in Screenwriting at Azusa Pacific University in California Where she chooses to live.
Her unique point of view of character creating and storytelling beside her visual talent opens windows to her. Her films screened, nominated and awarded at over 30 festivals around the world including Cannes, Pune, Action on Film, Italian Independent filmmakers, and many more. Maryam is a member of Alliance Women Director of America.
She wrote Scripts for TV shows and movies. Her books “Triangle” and “Where I am standing” including Scripts are published in 2016 and 2018.
A an international filmmaker she made 17 short films, Documentaries, and TV shows and numerous commercials and industrial films around the world.
She participated as a film festival jury member or head of the jury panel in different countries.
Beside distributing indie films, she teaches in workshops to support indie filmmakers and first-time filmmakers.
